We're Kay and Keith. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have access to a wealth of trails. We started trailrunners.net to have a place where we could have fun with trail running and maybe inspire others, whether they already ran trails or not.
Kay began running in 1991 and ran her first trail ultra in 2002, the Quicksilver 50K; a tough first ultra! She continues to run ultras with the goal of completing at least a 50 mile race and possibly a 100 mile race.
Keith began running in 1971 and ran his first trail ultra in 1973, the John F. Kennedy 50 Mile Hike/Run; the omnipotence of youth... After a 30 year break, Keith returned to trail running with the completion of the 2003 American River 50 Mile Endurance Run. While Keith has already exceeded his wildest expectations by completing several 100 mile races, he hopes to complete a Grand Slam some day.
When Keith and Kay aren't running, they're usually taking care of their cats. Here’s Willy. Keith and Kay found Willy abandoned and living in a woodpile near “Armadillo Willy’s” on their “road” running route. Fortunately they were able to catch him, give him medical attention, proper nutrition, and a home. But, unfortunately, Willy has FIV (feline immune deficiency virus), so he has to stay indoors and be kept separate from other cats. He is a constant source of joy and laughs!
This is Louie, Louie (after the song, of course)! Louie has been abandoned by his people, Keith and Kay's neighbors. Since Keith and Kay have a house kittie that does not want to share their attention (Willy), Louie lives on their patio. They would love to find Louie a good home where he can be inside all the time to get the love and attention he deserves. If you are willing to give Louie a home, please email us. After all, he’s always dressed for that special occasion!
